Last night was a very special evening for the Dumfries & Galloway Befriending Project.
We had the great honour of proudly receiving the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. Lord Lieutenant of Dumfries, Fiona Armstrong presented us with a certificate signed by The Queen as well as a beautiful crystal award. The Lord Lieutenant said “The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is a rare commodity and equal to an MBE for voluntary groups. I am delighted to present this award to such an outstanding charity”.
It is fantastic testament to our wonderful volunteer befrienders and to all involved with the project that our work has been recognised in this way.
Thank you to Frank Hayes, who took the wonderful photographs below, of our celebration at receiving The Queen’s Award For Voluntary Service 2018.
