Celebrating Volunteers Week

Volunteers’ Week gives us the opportunity to say a massive, heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who impact so positively on the lives of local young people. Whether a valued befriender or a volunteer member of our hard-working management committee, your commitment is very much appreciated.

Time to celebrate all our amazing volunteers and the wonderful contribution they make to our community.

Pictured above: some of our amazing volunteers at the ‘thank you’ meals last night – either at Casa Mia, Dumfries or The Crown Hotel, Newton Stewart to mark Volunteers’ Week.

“Personally, I find it a tremendous honour to be the Chairman of the Management Committee of the Dumfries and Galloway Befriending Project. I am incredibly inspired by the quality of our fantastic volunteers and I thank every one of them for all that they do. The Project, as a whole, benefits from dedicated staff and inspirational volunteers who go the extra mile in support of young people across Dumfries and Galloway. So, this Volunteers’ Week, why not celebrate and be inspired to get involved and add your support in some way to help us supporting our young people across the region.” David Miller, Management Committee Trustee and Chair

“Volunteers Week is a fantastic opportunity for everyone at the Dumfries and Galloway Befriending Project to say a huge thank you to our wonderful volunteer befrienders.  We have befrienders across the whole of the region, and they are supporting our young people fantastically on a weekly basis, supporting our young people to grow in confidence, try new things and enjoy the time they spend together.  If anyone is interested in joining our project, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss the next steps.” Helen McAnespie, Project Manager
