Lantern Parade
In November last year, several befriending matches attended a lantern making workshop to enable them to take part in the Big Burns Supper Festival carnival. However, as the event was cancelled due to the pandemic, we decided to hold our own mini lantern parade.
So, on a cold, clear Thursday evening, 20 hardy souls met in town, made their way along the river, across two bridges, down the High Street and on to the Dock Park band stand, where they enjoyed hot chocolate and doughnuts.
It was a delightful evening, with positive comments along the way and some new friends made. One befriender commented: “There was a lot of innocent joy to behold”.
